    Description

Very cool War of 1812 grouping direct from the estate of Senator/Governor Simon Snyder. Includes a pair of his britches worn by him, 2 paintings of him and his wife and a photo of his home from the 1950s. His wife was the daughter of a well known Patriot named Henry Antes. The britches are in pieces but the entirety of the pants are there. I'm sure someone may be able to sew them back together at some point.
Snyder died in 1819 while Senator so the pants are from 1819 or prior. The paintings I believe are early 19th century. I would think it's possible or even likely these britches were worn on the Senate floor during his term. His painting is hand painted (oil) in a early 19th century frame. Her frame is some sort of lithograph or something similar. Please see photos.
