Original M1839 Rifleman's Flask & Pouch Set.  Leather pouch is 6.5" wide at the top - 7" wide at bottom.  Gussets at sides & bottom.  Partition inside of buff leather.  Two japanned Roller Loops, Closing Button is original leather.  The closing strap is weak near button hole.  Backside of pouch has some edge stitching which has come loose and has been glued (about 3" long).
Ames Peace Flask dated 1847 - A.D.K. & Batty.  All seams intact, one tiny dent, spring works.  Nice patina.  Buff strap blackened per regulations of 1851.  VERY RARE.
