    Up for auction:
    this very rare and collectable French powder flask that dates back to the 1830`s - 1840`s.
    The flask is depicted in Riling`s 1953 "Powder Flask book" as flask 1005.
    Riling says: "Figure 1005 is a French flask which is marked A.C. a Paris and shows in simple dignity a lion couchant. An egg and dart border defines the panel, and pendant leaf and shell forms are below a petal throatband".
    A.C a Paris was one of the top notch makers of that time, together with J.N.N, P.Q.F and P.F.D.F.
    The overall length of the flask is 150 mm (5.9 Inches), the maximum width is 80 mm (3.1 Inches).
    Both original suspension rings are present > the seams are in good condition.
    The charger is complete with a good outside spring.
    The body has a nice mix of original laquered finish and age patina.
    Overall a rare classic French flask by a famous maker....
    and a interesting specimen of the "horse and other animals" section from the Powder flask Bible.
    Shipping times are much longer than eBay estimates.
    I ask you to be patient as this is out of my hands.
