Description
Up for auction:
a typical French flask from the 1840`s - 1850`s era.
This flask shows a "happy hunter" in a field accompanied by his 2 dogs.
Below the scene it reads:
VIVE LA JOIE
Free translated as "Long live the joy".
The scene and upper part of the body are highlighted with flowers and geometrical decoration.
Embossing on both faces of the flask.
It has a 4-step graduated nozzle, marked: 50 - 55 - 60 - 65 decigrammes.
Total length of the flask is 170 mm (6.7 Inches) including the nozzle.
Maximum width is 75 mm (2.95 Inches).
Condition: some dents to body, seams show old repair. Both suspension rings present.
Charger missing it`s spring, further complete.
A very rare French powder flask!
