Description
Up for auction:
this early 19th Century powder flask made of pressed lanthorn and brass.
It has beveled edges and a very translucent horn body.
This flask has a socalled "wrap-around" spring charger.
See Riling flask 1125 for a similar specimen.
The 2 pieces of pressed horn are kept together by a brass edging.
Both suspension rings are present.
The charger unscrews nicely and is of high quality.
The spring has original blued finish.
Total length included charger is 185 mm (7.28 Inches) - the maximum width is 72 mm (2.83 Inches).
Condition: GOOD! one minor crack to the horn body. The horn shows a shiny and translucent structure.
The charger is in very good working order with strong spring.
A must have for the collector of early 19th century powder flasks!
