    Description

    US 1847 Musketoon Socket Bayonet
    Something written in large letters on side of the socket. No ring. Pitted with rust. Bayonet came with a tag indicating it is for a 1847 Musketoon. I have not been able to ID the marking on the blade. Bayonet is short for a 1847 bayonet.
    Possibly shortened during the Civil War. Depend on your own knowledge & expertise when bidding.
