Up for auction:
a stunning French powder flask that is not mentioned in the P.F. book.
The maker is J.N.N. A PARIS and signed just below the main scene.
The flask has embossing on both faces.
It shows a panoply of hunting arms, a hatted hunter in a landscape together with his dogs
chasing a hare, the lowest decoration shows a dog`s head and 2 wild boar-like creatures.
The bottom of the flask has a lidded compartment for flints, caps or ball.
Both original suspension rings are present.
The charger is complete and working with a strong spring, but needs a nozzle.
Total length is 170 mm (6.7 Inches) - the width "at the swell" is 85 mm (3.35 Inches).
Condition: GOOD! some minor dents to the body. Embossing is crisp and detailed.
A SUPERB French powder flask which only needs a nozzle!
Shipping times are much longer than eBay estimates.
