Scarce US Federal Period Officers Pillow Pommel Sword on Blade US Eagle / unum

Here we offer a sword you do not see very often. It is a federal Period US   Infantry Officers Sword. This sword is documented in Harold Petersons landmark book "  The American Sword 1775 - 1945 " His number 62 on page 68. The hilt is brass mounted with a nice age patina . There is a ring on the top of the knucklebow probably for the sword knot .The grip is reeded bone. The straight spadroon type blade has an overall age patina with some spots of speckling.. The blade has several etched gold filled designs , including the US eagle with the Federal Shield, " E PLURIBUS UNUM  " and the word " WARRANTED  "  which may indicate thi sword was made in Birmingham, iEngland, We started to resume trading with England right after the Rev War ended . No scabbard being of leather it is long gone. The overall length is 38 1/4 " witha 32 1/2 " blade. I would place this as about 1800.
