Up for auction:
this rare gun stock powder flask that has been manufactured in France around the 1840`s.
It is not mentioned in Riling`s 1953 Powder Flask book.
The gun stock flask has a plain surface.
The charging unit is of the "detached charger" type.
It has a outside spring and a tilting charger.
The charger has a 4-step graduated scale: 70 - 75 - 80 - 85 (decigrammes).
Total length included charger is 220 mm (8.66 Inches) - the widest part measures 80 mm (3.15 Inches).
Condition: Seams are OK! (a small repair to the bottom seam).
Some shallow dents to body. Both original suspension rings are present.
Traces of original laquered finish present.
Charger is complete with a strong spring (blued finish). The tilting spring also in good condition.
A rare powder flask of French manufacture!
