Description
US Model 1816 Socket Bayonet. The blade shoulder is marked "U.S." over "N.S." (possibly for Nathan Starr), the shank has what looks like a "*v" but could be missing part of the stamp and the muzzle has an "L". It is in great condition for a 200 year old bayonet. No rust, no pitting, some small nicks, it is straight, and does have age spots scattered throughout. Length of the blade measures 15 5/8" (29/32" wide x 1/2" thick) and the bayonet is 18 7/8". The socket is 3". The muzzle hole is 13/16".Check out my other War items!! Including Many Swords and More Bayonets!!
