    Description

War of 1812 Officers Sword with Leather Scabbard.
The spine is marked "Sold by C & LD. Wolfe New York". The grip will move a little if you force it and the brass guard does have a wiggle. The grip has a crack and a few chips by the pommel.
    The halfway blued blade
has floral/leaf gold etchings with a cannon, armor, spears, and shields. The blade is straight, has been sharpened, the tip is a little sharp, some nicks,
it has some age spots scattered throughout, and there is a few spots with some surface rust.
The leather scabbard has crazing, the remaining stitching is mostly tight (it's a little loose where the scabbard is split in two and by where the drag should be covering), the throat piece is loose, there are a couple leather tears, surface loss scattered throughout
., and the leather has shrunk a little.
    W
asher is missing. Length of the blade is 31 1/8" (1 1/4" wide and 5/16" thick), the sword alone and overall in the scabbard is 35 5/8" because the drag is missing.
C & LD Wolfe New York was the predecessor to A.W. Spies, operating during the first quarter of the 19th century.
