    Description

    Original Pre-Civil War M1821 U.S. Infantry Officer's bell-crown cap badge.  This variation, and their are many, was used ca. 1828.  Die-stuck silver on copper eagle.  Wingspan is 3" with its original brass loop fasteners.  In this condition it is most likely a surplus piece, Bannerman or Sykes.  From my personal collection.  Please judge condition for yourself by the pictures.
