N Starr Pre-Civil War Model 1818 Saber Sword & Scabbard - Dated 1821

Description

Pre-Civil War NStarr Model 1818 Sword with Scabbard. The ricasso is marked "US" over a partial "P" (Proved) over a partial "S" over "NSTARR". The frontside of the knuckleguard is dated "1821". The grip and guard are tight. The grip has 50% of the surface leather remaining
.
The guard, backstrap, and pommel all have some pitting with light surface rust. The blade is straight, sharpened, a few light nicks, and there
are age spots with
some light surface rust scattered throughout. The scabbard is solid with no dents/dings, has a darkened patina with surface rust and light pitting throughout. Washer is missing. Length of the blade is 32" (1 1/4" wide and 5/16" thick), the sword is 37", and in the scabbard it is 38".
