Mounted Artillery Officers Sword Saber w/Brass Scabbard-Etched Blade-P. Knecht

Description

Mounted Artillery Officers Sword with Brass Scabbard. The ricasso is stamped "P. Knecht", it is also in script in the etching, the reverse is stamped "Solingen" and again it is also in script in the etching. The knuckleguard and grip are tight. The grip is solid with a couple chips by the pommel and a top to bottom crack line, also some tiny crackle lines. The etched blade is straight, unsharpened, no rust, no pitting, some nicks, and it is mostly clean with light has age spots. The brass scabbard is solid with a couple small edge dings, one dent, and some small scratches scattered throughout. Washer is intact. Length of the blade is 30 7/8" (1 3/16" wide and 1/4" thick), the sword is 35 1/2" and in the scabbard it is 37 1/2".
The "P. Knecht" mark was used around 1850.
