Up for auction:
this interesting French powder flask made of pressed lanthorn.
Riling`s book shows this specimen as flask figure 1417.
According to the author of the book his specimen bears the patent date 1834.
The flask that I have for sale has a date of 1830 on it. So the date on both flasks must be
the date of manufacture.
The flask for sale has a screwable plug in the bottom plate for easy filling.
Charging unit has been marked:
GOSSET BREVETE
1830
Length included charger is 200 mm (7.87 Inches) - the bottom part measures 70 mm (2.75 Inches).
Condition: GOOD! for almost 200 years.
The horn body has only normal using marks, no cracks or holes.
One suspension ring is missing. The charger is in excellent working order with strong spring.
A interesting powder flask for the collector of charging variations!
Shipping times are much longer than eBay estimates.
