    Description

    Prussian Model 1809 Socket Bayonet measuring 22.75" overall with a socket length of 3", inside socket diameter measures .870".  Has a cartouche on the left side end of socket along with one on the bottom of blade by elbow.  Still shows much original finish with age patina, and some pin prick scattered pitting.  An unusual bayonet in that there is no mortise, These were also purchased from the South during the American Civil War.  See photos for further details. One of the better condition ones that I have seen.
