Description:
This is an original German Mauser M1871/M1888 11mm/8mm Erfurt Bayonet Sword.
Condition:
The bayonet is in good serviceable condition. There is light rust on the pommel, spine and guard. Latch is fully functional. Grips are made of metal and have some minor dings/pitting and scratches on them. Blade is in fair shape and tip comes to a sharp point. Some of the finish has worn off on it and there are nicks on the blade. There are scratches and rust towards the tip. Scabbard is made of leather and has some light scratches and rust on it. There are no signs of verdigris on it. There are no markings. There is a pin missing from the chape, but the tip is still held securely by the other three. Frog is in fair condition. There are no rips or tears, but some of the stitching has come undone in a couple spots. There is no verdigris. As with all used parts, a light cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.
