    Description

Early 1800's French Infantry Officers Sword with Leather Scabbard.
The ricasso is unmarked, no markings anywhere. The brass guard does have a wiggle and the pommel cap moves a liitle too. The grip is tight, there are a couple cracks and chips.
    The halfway blued blade
has floral/leaf gold etchings with flags and instruments. The blade is straight, unsharpened, a few nicks along the edges,
it has some age spots scattered throughout, and there is a 5" x 1/4" section with some surface rust.
The leather scabbard has crazing, the stitching is mostly tight (the top 7 1/2" by the throat have let go), there is no throat piece and no drag
    .
    W
asher is intact. Length of the blade is 31 1/4" (1 1/4" wide and 5/16" thick), the sword alone and overall in the scabbard is 36 5/8" because the drag is missing.
