    Description

    Civil War Era Austrian Model 1854 Lorenz Musket Socket Bayonet.  Bayonet measurese 22.25" overall with a blade length of 19".  Still has the muzzle ring with screw, elbow front stamped, with two lines of numbers, left side shows star and "L" cartouches.  Surface rust on the socket, remainder is bright with age patina.  Has not been cleaned. Comes with a quadrangular scabbard, pretty nice shape for the age, shows some age patina, cracking on the fold and stitching undone on the top half with loosening on the bottom.These were used by both the North and South U.S. Civil War, with approximately 47,000 being used by the Confederacy alone.
