    Description

    British Socket Bayonet.
    The only marking I can find is a faint "
    *
    " on the blade shoulder, this supposedly represents "sold for service". Overall it has a darkened patina with minor surface rust and light pitting scattered throughout
    . The edges have several small nicks. The mortise looks like it was modified at some point. Length of the blade measures 10 3/4" (3/4" wide x 1/2" thick) and the bayonet is 13 13/16". The socket is 2 15/16".
    The muzzle hole is 13/16".
