This is a one of a kind knife as it was made from a British 1796 broken sword. into a D guard knife!
It was battle damaged & is 19 7/8” long with the tip broken off along with the guard arm that was broken off at the bottom of the twin shell guard & the rounded pommel cap. It was a very unique home made D guard knife from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia!. It is in good as found condition with light to light/medium pits & has a dark brown patina on the blade with the brass guard, grip & pommel cap having a dark bronze patina. It was bought at an estate sale in Burkittsville, Maryland several years ago & comes with a certificate of authenticity with historical research on the battle.
