    Description

    1840-1860 Waist Belt Plate with High Relief Star
    Die Stamped sheet brass with high relief star surrounded by 12 small stars and a wreath in the shape of arrowheads.  The Plate is 3 5/16 x 2 1/4 by 1/16inch.  Excellent condition.
    These plates were worn on linen belts by State units of Mississippi, Texas & Maine.
    (Over the years the solder holding the tongue/latch has deteriorated and thus the tongue has become detached.  However, it was saved and the plate can become whole once again.
    The tongue is a perfect match in patina and fit to the buckle)
